The Context

To achieve financial inclusion in the community, State Rural Livelihood Mission [SRLM] launched the Digital Financial Services Programme by encouraging female community members to work as bank agents, called as Bank Sakhis (Female Bank Correspondents) who provide financial services to remote areas.

our AIM

  • To generate insights to suggest relevant policy changes for State Rural Livelihood Mission [SRLM].

  • Identify best practices that increase the positive impacts of the women BC agents ecosystem on the rural poor. Design market interventions that can scale the Sakhi model.
